Privacy Policy

Azet (에이젯), a Korean sole proprietorship (business registration 897-76-00506, owner Sihwan Oh; “the operator”), operates Compound Calculator (“the site”) and handles personal information under Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act. There is no sign-up, and we do not ask for real names, phone numbers or accounts.

1. What we process and how long we keep it

a. What you type into the tool

Text, dates and numbers you enter are calculated in your browser and are not sent to our servers. If you copy and send a result link, the values you entered are included in that link. Your numbers are calculated only in your browser and are never sent to a server.

Some tools save your input in this device’s browser storage (localStorage) so it is still there next time. It never leaves your device and is removed when you clear site data.

b. Advertising and partnership inquiries

• Purpose: reading and answering advertising or partnership inquiries
• Data: inquiry type, name, company or brand (if given), reply email, message, the page address and language it was sent from, time received, and an irreversibly transformed value of your IP address used to stop repeat submissions (the IP address itself is not stored)
• Legal basis: Article 15(1)(4) of the Act (needed to answer your request in the course of entering into a contract)
• Retention: deleted one year after it is received. If an inquiry leads to a contract, later records follow the period set in that contract.
• Email sent directly to hello@compoundpicked.com is handled for the same purpose and period.

c. Pick banners

The “Pick” and “AD” banners below results and at the end of the page come from the operator’s banner server (ads.azet.io). It keeps only daily counts of impressions and clicks per site, slot and banner, never who saw them. To avoid showing the same banner too often, this tab’s session storage (sessionStorage) records how many times you saw each one; it is cleared when you close the tab. No cookies are used.

d. Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes connection data such as IP addresses for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.

2. Deletion

Information whose retention period has ended or whose purpose has been met is deleted without delay. inquiries and inquiry emails are permanently deleted from the database and the mailbox one year after receipt. Deleted data stays in Cloudflare’s database recovery feature for up to 30 days and then cannot be recovered. We keep no personal information under other laws.

3. Processors

The operator uses the following service providers. If a provider or task changes, we update this policy right away.

• Cloudflare, Inc.: site hosting, database storage, forwarding inquiry email
• Google LLC: storing inquiry email (Gmail)

4. Transfers outside Korea

To run the service and answer inquiries, the operator stores personal information outside Korea as follows, under Article 28-8(1)(3) of the Act (outsourced processing and storage needed to perform a contract with you, disclosed in this policy).

1) Cloudflare, Inc. (USA, privacyquestions@cloudflare.com)

• Data: everything stored on the server listed in section 1 (inquiries), and connection logs (IP address etc.)
• Location: Cloudflare data centers in the Asia-Pacific region (where the database is) and the Cloudflare data center nearest to you; the company is based in the USA
• When and how: each time you use the site, over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• Purpose and retention: hosting and data storage, for the periods in section 1

2) Google LLC (USA, googlekrsupport@google.com)

• Data: inquiry contents (type, name, company, email, message, page address) and email received at hello@compoundpicked.com
• Location: countries where Google data centers are located, including the USA
• When and how: forwarded by email as soon as an inquiry or email arrives
• Purpose and retention: storing and answering inquiry email, one year from receipt

If you do not want your information stored outside Korea, contact us by another route instead of the inquiry form. You can ask us to delete anything you already sent at the email below. Without overseas storage, replies to the inquiry form are not available.

5. Cookies and third-party tracking

The following providers’ tools are installed on this site, and those providers collect usage records directly through cookies and similar technology. We do not use these records to identify you.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Korean pages load Kakao Corp.’s sharing tool (Kakao SDK) after the page has loaded, for the KakaoTalk share button. Coupang Partners links only take you to Coupang’s site; there is no Coupang tracking tool on this site. English pages contain Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon may use cookies after you follow a link to attribute purchases.

How to refuse: block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies; Safari: Settings → Safari → Prevent Cross-Site Tracking). Turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info, and Analytics collection with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site keeps working if you block cookies.

6. Children under 14

There is no sign-up and we do not ask your age. Children under 14 should not put real names, schools or contact details in posts; please use a nickname. A legal guardian can ask to see or delete a post a child created at the email below.

7. Your rights

You (or the legal guardian of a child under 14) can ask at any time to see, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal information. Email us at the address below with the email address you used. If someone acts on your behalf, include proof of the authorization. We respond within 10 days of receipt.

8. Security measures

(1) All traffic between the site and the server is encrypted (HTTPS). (2) Only signed-in operators can open the database and the inquiry admin screen. (3) The inquiry form does not store raw IP addresses.

If this policy changes, we post the changes and the new effective date on this page.
